Large coastal areas in Europe feature low seawater temperatures. Divers in UK, Northern France, Northern Iberia and Northern Europe dive in water between 8℃ and 14℃. European buyers face three persistent challenges. First, thick wetsuits from many factories have poor seam sealing, allowing cold water ingress and insufficient thermal retention. Second, EU REACH and RoHS regulations impose strict limits on chemicals in neoprene and adhesive materials. Many suppliers cannot supply complete test documents, risking cargo detention at port. Third, European body shapes differ greatly from Asian patterns. Direct use of Asian patterns leads to poor fit, restricted movement and high end-customer return rates.
In late 2024, a European water sports buyer partnered with Yalisi for cold-water wetsuits. The buyer supplies local dive shops and required 5mm and 7mm thick thermal full wetsuits. The first order was one 40GP container with 12,800 units for European cold-water diving. Client requirements: fully sealed GBS construction, reliable thermal retention, all materials compliant with EU REACH, brand-new patterns built for European body types, 20-day lead time with split shipments.
Our project team built a full customized solution. Material selection: We selected thick saltwater-resistant neoprene foam and low-toxicity eco sealing adhesive. All accessories including zippers, webbing and elastic meet REACH standards. Hazardous substance screening is performed before raw material storage with complete test files archived. Pattern & sampling: We built patterns based on European anthropometric data, widening shoulder width, adjusting torso proportion and adding extra allowance at knee bending zones. Three sample iterations were conducted with thermal and leakage tests inside low-temperature water tanks. We fine-tuned glue application to stop cold water penetration. Approved samples were ready within 7 days. Production control: CNC splitting machines maintain precise foam thickness. Dedicated GBS sealing workstations with specialized operators handle glue coating and heat curing to avoid uneven adhesive layers. Sealing performance is checked every two hours during production. Quality inspection: Finished goods sampled under AQL2.5 standard. Selected samples undergo low-temperature immersion test. Labels, sizing and packaging are audited to comply with EU import rules. All test records are archived and available for customs and buyer review. Delivery result: 12,800 cold water wetsuits were shipped in two batches in one 40GP container and arrived at European port smoothly. After local dive shop distribution, end users confirmed reliable warmth and better mobility compared with previous suppliers. Product return rate decreased by 76%. The buyer continues to place 2–3 container orders annually, with total shipments over 48,000 cold-water wetsuits.

Cold ocean environments leave little safety margin. Failed seam sealing directly compromises diver safety. With mature pattern development, full process control and large-scale production capacity, Yalisi develops custom cold-water wetsuits for different sea temperatures. Products support EU compliance testing. We accept OEM & ODM full-container orders from European brands and guarantee stable bulk delivery schedules.
